WHO: Andrea Moore + ArtLab
Andrea Moore is a native Colorado artist that has traveled the world making an impact with her work and was a previous Creative Resident at PlatteForum January - March of 2011. She is a Photographer, Writer, Performer and Producer. Currently, Andrea is spending the summer exploring subversive art through the lens of language. Using a combination of verbal and visual messaging, installation art, and improvisation, students will experiment with creative ways to express ideas that are antiestablishment but prosocial. Taking a strong prosocial stance, Andrea is encouraging the ArtLab students to question the world around them. The students are working on projects around the Denver metro area and invite the community to watch and some times even participate in their Open Studio time on Thursday afternoons. WHO: Jenna Avriel Rice + ArtLab + Bessie's Hope
WHAT: Photography + Intergenerational Storytelling

In conjunction to their work with Andrea Moore, ArtLab students are working with Creative Resident Jenna Avriel Rice. During their Learning Labs with Jenna the students will learn the basics of photography and storytelling. The ArtLab students will take their basic skills to assisted living communities and with the help of Bessie's Hope be matched with elders. Bessie’s Hope enhances the quality of life for nursing home and assisted living elders and brings generations together in mutually rewarding relationships by honoring the human spirit and creating life-enriching volunteer opportunities for youth, families, individuals, community organizations and businesses. Through intergenerational storytelling the students will compile stories of the elder's lives and document them in artist books.
